The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2007 has recently been published. The main increases in compensation limits are as follows and will apply from 1 February 2008:
- a week's pay for the purposes of the unfair dismissal basic award and statutory redundancy payments - £330 (currently £310)
- maximum compensatory award for the purposes of unfair dismissal - £63,000 (currently £60,600)
In cases involving dismissal, the new figures will apply where the effective date of termination is on or after 1 February 2008.
